In this pedal boat, the moving parts of the drive mechanism have to have lubricant-free bearings because the screw is under water. Lubricants would be washed away permanently. This is where igus® plastic plain bearings are required. They guarantee the lubricant-free force transmission from the pedals via the toothed belt to the screw – which means no maintenance is required.
